But there are other residents in your dog … tiny little microorganisms like bacteria, fungi, viruses. The bacteria in your dog outnumber his cells 10 to 1 and their genes outnumber your dog’s genes by more than 100 times.
Collectively, these little communities of microbes are called the microbiome.
What Is The Microbiome?
